Da Chang Jing dream

It has been quite some time since I last blog about myself. I guess I have been too busy arranging and preparing to leave my 8.30am to 5.30pm job to become an entrepreneur. It actually wasn't really as difficult as I imagined, just a little tricky sometimes... just to create a win-win situation for me and the company.

Anyway, I have this funny dream after finishing off the last few episodes of 'Da Chang Jing', a Korean Drama series. The show was really all not that bad. In fact, it is so good that I decided to buy a cheap DVD (around S$30+++).

The Da Chang Jing Dream

I dreamt that I was with a sick lady and in a room that has sliding doors. And then with the back ground music similiar to the drama series, another lady came along to cure this sick lady. This lady seems a bit like 'Da Chang Jin' but I didn't remember how she looks in my dream though. She approached the sicky lady which was sitting beside me, but when she took out her accupuncture needle, she didn't pierce the sick lady. Instead, she pierce her needles on my left upper arm! I was shocked when I saw that her accupuncture needles are really the seamstress coloured-round-pin head needles... I recalled that the pin head is pink in colour and there is more than one poked on my upper arm.

And then, the sick lady suddenly recovered and ask the 'typical drama series' question; 'Tell me, how did you do it?' And then both of them seemed to have forgotten my existence and just walked off very slowly with another one of the typical drama background music that indicates the mystery or cure is solved.

The funny thing is that the 'accupuncture' pins are still on my left shoulder. I freaked out, but with no voice... and they left me happily, just like that!!!

I guess I shouldn't watch too much of these shows too intensively... who knows next time which part of my body is she going to poke me again. Ouch!!!

The polling day 06 May 2006

Yesterday has been an exciting moment of my life. It's Singapore polling day!!! And for the first time, I have a choice and I get to vote.

Like everyone else, I didn't really know how I should dress up for the occasion or wear as per normal. And also should I queue up the day before the sun rise (just like the typical fans queueing up for their tickets just to see their favourite idol), or should I purposely come in late, so that I can look good on TV... guess I didn't find that guts to do that and somebody actually did that on purpose!!! Of course they finally got themselves in the pictures... EXHILIARATINGLY FANTASTIC!!

The most exciting part is when the voting results is out... At first I thought that the votes for the opposition party would come stronger than the last time.... and it turns out that though it may be quite true, Singaporeans that hold the right to vote decided to choose the safer and more secure route. Well perhaps many locals hold high confidence in the government.

Then again, there are some Singaporeans who are just indifferent to the local politics and they are just too busy with themselves, their work and their family for some.... they just didn't have the time to think too much and so they take the easy way out.

The worrisome thing is that not many Singaporeans is interested enough to attend the rally. I am of course one of them. On the first polling rally evening, I saw many people busy running their errands at the neighbourhood shopping centers. It was so crowded I wondered if they are indifferent or perhaps too busy at shopping centers to attend. For me, I could not care less... perhaps in my mind, I already know who the big winner is going to be.

Well, anyway, all the excitement has come to an end and I anticipate the next polling day five years down the road..... Maybe next time I might be interested enough to attend the rally.

Happy Lunar New Year

Baking, Baking

This year's Lunar has been busy, busy and busy.... in the midst of the bacterial flu hovering around me while I was helping my ma baking kueh Bankit and Pineapple tarts, it is truly a huge effort especially the cleaning up part... this year, the oven is here to stay so we did the true authentic way of baking them.... I have also changed my bedsheets with new ones.

Ang baos irony

It feels abit funny that I've grown past twenty-five and still receiving ang baos (red packets), especially from my 2 sisters who were married, now with children of their own, while I am still single and not married. Well, I guess they probably envy my freedom I have for now.
.. ha ha....

Cannot join my boyfriend for reunion dinner

As for the reunion dinner, my boyfriend and I figured out we wouldn't visit each other on that day for the dinner because his folks feels that my boyfriend cannot come to my place for reunion and vice versa... Initially, I felt a little sad, but I guess it is alright... we should respect the folks philosophy and practice wherever possible...

Lunar New Year Spring Cleaning philosophy

Every New Year eve, when I'm home, my dad would be out to drive the Taxi night-shift while my mum and I would start cleaning up the place and clearing the dust as much as possible before the clock strike twelve midnight. According to the tradition, after midnight, you cannot clear the dust or sweep it out of the house as it would mean that your prosperity would be swept out...haa haa!.... so what we'd do is to sweep inwards and collect the dust into the house...

Dreaming that I was jogging

Have you ever dreamt of jogging in your dream. Well, I have just had one last night. In my dream, I was asking myself why I was jogging for the third time in a week(including the jog in the dream)! In fact, I couldn't sleep well last night after applying the eye ointment... nevertheless, I think I didn't miss much out in my dreams. In my dream, I wasn't jogging at my apartment void deck but a unfamiliar, nice and new place.

In fact, I was jogging just last evening (my second time in a week) and I thought it is a personal accomplishment because I have not been jogging that frequently for the past few months. That evening, there was an irritating joggers (One who is probably a father, training his son on how to jog properly). The way he instructed the boy makes me feel very conscious of myself (footsteps must be light and not heavy) and when I speed up to overtake them, the boy somehow got a little nervous and I got my silent grin.. still I have to applaud the boy for such stamina as he didn't stop jogging, unlike me; I jog and walk... hee hee!

Guess I got too lazy.. still, you have to listen to my rationale as to why women shouldn't jog too frequently. You know, jogging tends to build muscles at the calf, thigh and the shoulder as well and I dun want to jog so much that it may reduce my breast size that is puny enough and on top of that, to build a masculine muscles all over me.* sigh* I remember relating this (excluding the breast part) to one of the course mates in one of the motivational seminars I attended and they laughed at me... I guess u must be grinning at one corner too.

Well, sweet dreams, dreamer

The Tuna Balls and glutinous Balls sweet soup

Talking about food, this afternoon has been really boring so I decided to do some tuna balls. It is really easy to do though it can get alittle messy. You just need the canned tunna (which ever flavour u like best), then mix with a little flour (plain flour or self raising flour) and then, you make them like a ball and deep fry it till golden brown.

During X'mas season, it normally collides with the 'Dong Zhi' (in Mandarin) and since there are alot of leftover glutinous flour, my mum suggested we have Glutinous balls sweet soup and the Fried Tuna balls for lunch. This year, mum tried a different way of making the glutinous balls, that is to mix it with the potatoes, sweet potatoes (yellow and orange type), yam, purple potatoes and pumpkin.

It gives various exciting colours and I enjoy eating them, especially the yam and the orange sweet potato. yum yum!

Strange dreams I have

Today is a Public Holiday in Singapore for the X'mas which was celebrated yesterday, since it falls on Sunday. I had a dream about having a vampire who liked me very much and a huge platter of delicious food taken with a group of my friends on the table... and they were served by the people from SHATEC.... well, it must be a strange combination of events, guess it was because the night before, I took a glimpse of TV show on vampire in love and on the other hand, I was surfing SHATEC website as I begin my search on their courses that might be suitable for me, but it seems alittle confusing to me.

Nevertheless, the dream had been enjoyable and I decided to sleep thru the morning to continue with the dream till 10am....the food looks really delicious though I cannot remember exactly what food was served... yum yum...

When I am not day dreaming

Despite dreaming in the day time or building castles in the air, life still has to go on... but sometimes, when things are not too good, it is always nice to escape into the dreaming mode... still there are times when nice things happen for me to remember...

this year December, has been unusual... firstly, I have a boyfriend telling me that he has taken 2 weeks leave and will not spend his Xmas and New year with me because he wants to travel on his own to vietnam. Being me, it would crazy to say that I', happy that he goes, and of course I made noise about it but I guess this is what he wants...

Then, I had done my confession in a new way as proposed by my parish.. this was done so as to shorten the queue. The confession is done as a congregation and though we still need to queue, there is no need to recite the special prayers or the 'act of contrition'. because of this, I decided to queue for the Teochew (Chinese dialect) confession since I only need to confess my sins and the shorter queue was Teochew.

I also celebrated a mini Xmas gathering with my uni friends (Pauline, Eileen and Joon). It was partly out of convenience for me to pass her their wedding videos which I have done for her and to distribute to the rest.

Today's ham sausage also taste better... first time ordering from BBQ.. and for the first time, my second sis offered to pay for it... maybe that was why it tasted better.

Everybody was asking why my boyfriend is not around with me... I told them I really dunno...sigh!

Dreaming in the daytime

Do you dream alot? I do, and sometimes I cannot even remember them well....I jus remember enough that they can be really sweet, or horrifying, or even exciting.

However, in the day time, do you dream as well? Well, Me too!! Whenever I feel stressed or frustrated about life struggle, I dream in my mind about a lavender garden in front of the house. I am standing just outside the house and the dog runs round the field, chasing after butterflies while the wary white lion or tiger stood on the field. On my shoulder, is an eagle sitting, and looking afar.

So, do you have dreams in the day when you are wide awake too?
